A Heritage Cocktail Experience in London at the Green Bar

Enjoying a historic past, the Hotel Café Royal began as a humble wine bar and grew into one of the finest establishments for entertainment and luxury in the world.  At the height of its prominence, the Café Royal catered to royalty, celebrities, rock stars, and athletes alike.  Once a favourite dining spot of George VI, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Taylor, Winston Churchill, David Bowie, and many others, the Café Royal was held in high esteem and is still today one of the most notable buildings on Regent Street.

Delicately restored, the Hotel Café Royal is today a five star luxury hotel in the heart of London fashion.  Located within the Regent Street hotel, travellers will discover a unique heritage site, the Green Bar.  This bold cocktail bar serves a unique menu of heritage cocktails, stemming back through the history of the Café Royal.  Guests may also savour traditional absinthe, served from elegant fountains at the bar.

Upon entering the space, guests imagine traveling back in time, to a private and elegant cocktail lounge.  Rich, dark greens mix with the industrial metal of the bar.  Green marble tables and leather seating provide a comfortable and discreet space to enjoy a refreshing drink and the company of dear companions.  The Green Bar also features special events, such as a Sunday Brunch and unique celebration of Givenchy’s L’atelier perfumes.

The Green Bar features a unique cocktail list, dating back to 1937.  Guests of the Hotel Café Royal are delighted by an assortment of heritage drinks and specialty cocktails using only the finest ingredients.  Among these is the Blue Bird, a special at the Green Bar.  The Blue Bird is a mix of Ketel One Vodka, Cointreau, fresh lemon juice, with a dash of Maraschino Luxardo and Blue extracts.  Shaken and double strained into a goblet, this drink has a smooth flavour and citrusy kick.
